The Inaugural Year of The Heralds Is Complete!

By Dr. Ray Eddy

The Heralds is a Registered Student Organization that was created to help students work on their individual speaking and presentation skills. But it wasn’t all work! We had a lot of laughs and fun along the way. Check out the photos below to see what we mean.

On March 5th we had our first “Knight of Proclamations” with six of our group members giving 5-minute presentations on topics that really motivate and inspire them:

  • Esteban Baez Sola: “How to Always Feel Successful”
  • Madison Kalhor: “Dive into my Swimming Journey”
  • Cole Spears: “Enrolled in a School … of Thought”
  • Anthony Vega: “Digital Influence – a Double-Edged Sword”
  • Meggie Keung: “How I Learned my ABCs”
  • Evelyn Rivera: “Archimbolo – a Weirdo’s Story”

We then wrapped up with a fun social outing to Keg Social and Night Owl Cookies.

If anyone is interested in joining our group in the fall, please email the group’s advisor, IB Lecturer Dr. Ray Eddy, at Ray. Eddy@ucf.edu. What do we do each week? Well, we do some improv comedy activities to help you relax and become more confident, learn a bit about presenting, and keep on having fun while we do it! The group is very casual – we don’t take attendance! – and all experience levels are welcome.

We hope to see you there!
