IB High School Competition 2021

High school students from Central Florida are invited to participate in a day long competition to work on team work, presentation, and goal setting skills with support from current UCF Integrated Business faculty and students. Whether students intend to major in business or are exploring other career options, they can practice some valuable skills while collaborating with a team to propose a solution to our case challenge.
High school teachers can participate in an interactive, professional development session with our Integrated Business faculty while the students work on the competition. The event will take place virtually on Friday February 25th from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm.
Our 2022 space is currently full. High school groups interested in participating in future years can contact UCF Instructor, Shelley Maccini at shelley.maccini@ucf.edu for more information. Registration for 2023 will open in Fall 2022.

Here are several quotes from the 2021 IB student volunteers:

Kendall Clark, Coach
I loved contributing as a coach for the IB High School Competition. This was a great and fun opportunity to share the wonderful skills I have been taught by my professors! I would highly recommend anyone to volunteer if they get the chance to.

Luis F. Matos, Coach
Participating in this event was a great opportunity to work with future business leaders and giving back to the community by sharing our knowledge with them.

Jordan Hazen, Skills Trainer
The High School IB Competition was extremely impactful in my life. I got to meet and work with amazing High School students, while working with my UCF IB peers. My favorite part of this event was getting to interact with the High School students and listen to their presentations.

Sydney Prosser, Coach
Jennifer wasn’t kidding; this day was as much for me as it was for the students. I loved getting to work with them and not only foster their business capabilities, but work on my personal facilitation skills as well.

Philippe Espinet, Coach
I felt that the IB high school competition helps give high schoolers an opportunity to get a head start on both the technical and soft skill aspects of the business world. It’s a great way for them to gain insight on the integrated business major and see if it’s something they might enjoy.
We are looking forward to our upcoming 2022 competition!
