IB Students Showcase Professional Sales Skills at Annual Sales Competition
Developing Skills Beyond the Classroom
This semester, students in the UCF Integrated Business program had the opportunity to put their skills into action during the annual sales competition hosted by Integrated Business and sponsored by Northwestern Mutual. The event brought together students, faculty, alumni, judges, and industry professionals for a high-energy experience centered around communication, professionalism, and real-world business application.

Throughout the semester, students across all sections of Integrated Marketing and Sales worked to strengthen their sales strategies, presentation abilities, teamwork, and client communication skills in preparation for the competition. Reaching the semifinal rounds required months of preparation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, making the event a reflection of both academic and professional growth.
From the Classroom to Competition
The sales competition provided students with an opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a realistic business setting. Participants were challenged to think strategically, communicate effectively, and present solutions with confidence while navigating scenarios similar to those they may encounter in their future careers.
From preparing sales presentations to responding to questions from judges and industry professionals, students demonstrated adaptability, professionalism, and poise throughout the event. The competition highlighted the value of experiential learning and reinforced the practical skills developed through the Integrated Business curriculum.

Special thanks to the UCF College of Business Administration, Northwestern Mutual, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to support this valuable experiential learning opportunity. Their continued investment in student success helps create meaningful experiences that bridge the gap between academics and industry.
Looking Ahead
The annual sales competition continues to reflect what makes the Integrated Business program unique: hands-on learning, collaboration, and opportunities for students to develop professional skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
As the competition continues to grow each year, it remains a testament to the professionalism, dedication, and talent of IB students and the supportive community that helps them succeed.
